This week was a bit of a first as I recorded an interview with Paul Evans Norfolk running coach.

Paul is a great guy and he has been sharing some running tips with me as I get ready for a marathon in September.

We chatted about Run Norwich and how he had been training the ‘Pace of Mind’ team for Norwich Mind.

Running memories

More than that Paul also shared his memories of running the 10,000m final at the Barcelona Olympics in 1992 as well as his tips on what to have for breakfast on a 10k race day and how to get yourself settled and follow your race day plan.

We also chatted a bit about what you should do after a race – his view was to relax and enjoy it! But if you are thinking of signing up to some other events then I did come up with some other running ideas in Norfolk you could sign up to – you might want to check the bling out at the Coltishall Jaguars 5k race on Wednesday too!

Many of you may know Paul Evans already. Up until recently he was working at Active Norfolk but has now set up as a running coach – so check out Paul Evans Norfolk running coach on Google or follow the link to find out more about what he’s up to these days.

A word on the sound quality

Just a little bit on the audio – we recorded on a very hot sunny day at UEA Sportspark, but what we didn’t realise was that even a gentle breeze can sound like a wind tunnel sometimes – oh well you live and learn, but I wanted to try something different, so hopefully you enjoy listening to it.

Paul and I are hoping to chat again, so keep an ear open and if you are looking for a running coach then why not get in touch with him?

Sometimes we do these things and have no idea what people think. But if you do have any views on either the content of the podcast, things you liked or didn’t like then I’d love to hear your feedback. And if there is anything you’d like us to feature either as a podcast or a blog then let me know.

Know a runner with a story tell? We’d love to chat to you. May be you’re running for the first time or setting off on a challenge of some kind. Or may be you have a favourite Norfolk running story you’d like to share. Let us know!
