So you’ve just done Run Norwich, what next? Where can you find your next Norfolk run to sign up to?

So you’ve done Run Norwich what now? Where can you find your next Norfolk run to sign up to?

You’ve just got your medal had a wander around the race day village at Chapelfield and cleaned out the contents of your goody bag.

You’re thinking, what can I do next?

Or may be you’re not, may be it’s a case of been there, done that and never again.
But for some with all those endorphins pumping through the body it might be time to start planning the next race.
First off though – give yourself a bit of time to recover from this one. Running a 10k is no mean feat, and Run Norwich is a pretty challenging course, as you’ve now just realised.

Tip 1  savour the moment

Running a 10k is a big deal, particularly Run Norwich which is a tough one. So first off – enjoy it!

Tip 2 recover

Some people like to do a recovery run the next day too, just to loosen the legs. Personally, I like to have a few days off, and actually probably a week if the training and race was pretty intense. Why not, eh? You deserve it after all.

Tip 3 plot your next race

Where can you find your next Norfolk run?

But now that Run Norwich is over, what now?
How about one of these three events coming up?

Here’s a run down of some forthcoming events, some of which I’ve heard about, some I’ve done, and some I’ve shared on the Runnorfolk Facebook Group. They’re not meant to be an exhaustive list, but they’re a start. May be you know of some others – if so then let us know and I can add them to the list!

1. Marriots Way 10k – Sunday October 7.

I’m looking to do this one which goes between Aylsham and Reepham. This year is the 10th anniversary and there’s a kid’s fun run beforehand and buses to get you from start to finish. But hurry – there are still places but they tend to sell out after people have done Run Norwich. I wonder why?

Here’s what they say online..

Competitors run beside Whitlingham Broad before following a two-lap route along quiet roads through the heart of Trowse and close to Whitlingham Hall. This race has become a real value-for-money event with beautiful scenery and great viewing opportunities for supporters and spectators.

The minimum age for this event is 16 years on race day. No devices with headphones or earbuds, including bone conduction headphones, may be worn while racing.

2. Scottow Sundowner 5k organised by the Coltishall Jaguars

Check out the bling on this! It comes hot on the heels of Run Norwich so may be a bit early if your legs are sore, but the medal alone might be enough to tempt you. It’s an evening race starting at 7.15pm but you need to be there from 6pm when the car-park marshalls arrive.
